cloth baby diapersYou want the best for your baby. You also want to follow your ideals as much as possible, like eating natural or organic foods whenever possible, buying wooden baby toys instead of plastic and limiting the chemicals used in your household.

As we all know, disposable diapers are a huge impact on the environment because of how long it takes them to decompose (do they really ever??). The natural option for an earth-conscious parent is to consider using cloth diapers for their baby.

Baby Mattresses

baby mattresses The date of your baby's arrival is getting closer and closer. You want to be prepared and also have the highest quality baby mattress for your little one. What are some key points to keep in mind when shopping for a crib mattress?

First, make sure the mattress is fire retardant. Organic baby mattresses provide a natural sleeping environment without compromising your baby's health. Conventional baby mattresses are treated with chemicals in order to be fire retardant. There is definitely a difference in cost between the two types of mattresses, but decide whether it is worth it for you and your baby.

Second, ensure a proper fit between the mattress and the crib. Too large of a space between these two can be a hazard to your little one. Generally, no more than 2 fingers should be able to fit in this space. Today, cribs and baby mattresses are a standard size, but if you are using an "family keepsake" crib, it's important to check the safety.

Lastly, the baby mattress should be comfortable and firm in order to support your baby and provide a safe sleeping area.
